This item was received by our Museum as part of a bequest. I am not an expert on Christmas decorations and have described the item to the best of my ability. Please review the photos carefully and email me any questions before placing your bid. The boxes and light strands are described in detail below. Five of the boxes definitely say Cat. No. 110. Four of them have a yellow square at the bottom that says "for a SAFE and BRIGHTER CHRISTMAS." The fifth one just says "with MAZDA LAMPS" at the bottom. The sixth box looks exactly the same as the fifth one ("with MAZDA LAMPS" at the bottom) but it is labeled Cat. No. 6585. All strands have been tested and are working fine, except where noted. The bulbs all have varying degrees of chipping paint. Set #1 -- cloth-covered strand is light green in color with a red/gold patter and black plastic sockets. The sockets, strand, and plug are in good condition except for one area that was repaired with black electrical tape. The sides of the display window is torn in three places and the front rights-hand side of the box is slightly crushed. Also, the lid and one flap is starting to tear off. This box is in decent shape. Set #2 -- The strand is light brown or red in color with red plastic sockets. There is one socket that is badly damaged at the bottom causing some dangerous exposed wire. There are also two areas of exposed wire on the strand. This will need to be repaired. The box is in rough shape. Both of the back corners of the bottom of the box are torn. There are also several small tears around the display window, surface damage on the lid where a sticker had been removed, and remnants of Scotch tape on the lid and one edge. Set #3 -- This was originally an 8-socket strand but has been altered to include two additional sockets for a total of ten. The fabric-covered strand is tan in color with a red pattern. The sockets are black plastic and each has a red bead beneath it to attach it upright to a tree branch. The box is torn in four places around the display window , the lid has marker writing on it, and one edge has some pencil writing on it. Set #4 -- This set was originally an 8-socket strand but has been altered to add one more for a total of 9. The sockets are black plastic. The strand is light green in color with a gold pattern. Except for the areas where the new socket was added, the strand is in very good original condition. All sockets have a patented Noma bead to hold the light in place on a branch. The box is in rough shape. The display window and sides are torn in several places and the rear right-hand corner is torn. There is marker writing on the back edge. There must be a short in the wire or something because there's one bulb that will not stay lit. The rest all work fine. Set #5 -- This fabric-covered strand is light green in color. The sockets are green plastic. The strand, sockets, and plug are in very good condition. The box is in rough shape. The front edge is completely covered with a strip of 2" clear packing tape that is starting to peel off. The rear corner of the box on the left-hand side is torn and the right side is partially torn. The display window is ripped in four places and there is a small amount of pencil writing on the lid. The strand seems thicker and longer than the others and does not fit in the box very well. Set #6 -- This strand is god in color with a red pattern. The sockets are black plastic with red splotches. The wire is covered with electrical tape where it enters each socket. I did not remove the tape to see the extent of the damage. Other than that, the sockets, strand, and plug are in excellent condition. The front edge of the box is torn in two places and there's damage to the lid like it was scored with a knife. This is the best box in the lot. The color is vibrant and beautiful.
