Offered at No Reserve is a vintage brass Bradley and Hubbard hanging oil lamp from the 1880s which has had a light socket added in place of the wick. T never appears to have been any electrical wiring added...or no indication of any that we can determine. This lamp is in wonderful overall condition and is 95% + complete which I will enumerate: it has been necessary to add three chains and hooks, one screw and two nuts in order to allow the light to hang as intended. The remainder of the lamp is all original except the socket (pictured) which might have been added around 1910 or so.It measures approximately 44" in length when hanging and about 17 1/2" at it's widest. The glass domed shade is original and cased glass. It has no breaks or chips but it does show some wear especially at the edge w it fits into the brass ring. The chimney seems to be original also and has a 4 or 5 pronged spider crack in the side (pictured). As shown, the bottom section hangs on 4 chains (only one is original as mentioned above) and that section then hangs by two chains and attaches to the ceiling plate. Note the B&H cap and the Patent Applied For on the turn knob as shown in the photos. This lamp has been stored for more than 50 years and before that hung in the den of a home in Massachusetts. It's patina has not been altered in decades. We will certainly read more
