This set of bells is thought to be from Russia according to the "going out of business antique dealer" that it was purchased from. It is made to mount on something, possibly a door or sleigh. The top bell has the clangers on the outside and they are kept in place with a nut. ( There may be a cap nut missing. The fixture does turn to a "tight position" or screw off the top.) Two of the original top clangers have gone missing over time and were replaced along the way with a mismatch. Shown in the first picture. One of the bells with the clangers on the inside is missing a clanger. Each of these was supposed to have 3. The bell is still quite musical with these minor changes. The bell is solid brass or bronze, not sure which. A magnet does not stick to any part of the bell. This would be a unique item to add to a door or gate post.Approximate measurements:2 pounds before wrapping and boxing9.5 inches between bracket tips on bottomAbout 10 inches tall.Check out my other items !
