The clock movement is fixed in the case of brass framed base. There are beveled glass inlaid with each side, the whole delicate skeletonized movement is visible through any sides. It has big brass bell on the top of the movement and repeat a nice brass bell sound every hour. The dial is porcelain enameled, but it looks like mint after cleaning which little bit old when we got it. The tourbillon escapement makes the clock different and expensive from other normal clocks as such technique is just used for the high class clocks and watches. Some brand watches are still use tourbillon escapement to show it outstanding workmanship and its luxury.
