This Auction is For A Polish Eagle Brass Hilt & Scabbard Dress Sword. Very Good Condition. Description This fabulous Polish? sword has a solid brass hilt with unusual thumb ring within the grip and a very impressive eagle and crown emblem within the basket work. Grip is leather but twisted wire trim missing. Is a plain broadsword blade with a further polish eagle, drums and pikes engraved on one side and a sun motif on the reverse. Brass scabbard has interesting inset leather panels and hook grip. Blade measures 35". This is a large and substantial sword in unissued (still has waxed blade) condition. The blade does not fully enter the scabbard as I think some of the red velvet lining has bunched up at the bottom, but this is easily rectified. A very impressive sword, although obviously has some age no idea from what period. Would benifit and deserves further research. Would make an interesting addition to any collection.
