N Scale Brass Key Imports PRR 2-10-4 TEXAS J-1A #6464 Long Distance tender NIBManufactured by Samhongsa, imported by Key Imports. Perfect condition, test run only. All drivers and wheels shiny, showing no wear.Detailed backhead, complete siderods, all visible piping, prototypical paint and lettering, all factory applied. "Long Distance" sixteen wheeled tender includes handrails, coal bunker bracing, micro riveting details, rear headlight casting, water scoop and '3 porthole' head brakeman's cabin.Original Samhongsa paint protection paper and plastic wrap, original foam inserts in perfect condition, no stains and no degradation of any kind. Box condition also excellent, internally and externally, no tears or corner damage, extremely faint box wear. Includes b oth extra driver sets, siderod wrench, additional screws in ziplock bags from factory.HistoryDuring World War 2, the Pennsylvania Railroad needed heavier locomotives to pull huge increases in the length and number of freight trains, many with military supplies and equipment.Wartime restrictions prohibited the development of new locomotives, so the Pennsylvania Railroad borrowed a Norfolk and Western Class A 2-6-6-4 and a Chesapeake & Ohio class T-1 2-10-4.After the locomotives were extensively tested, the C&O 2-10-4 was chosen to be produced with a few minor changes to adapt
