1854 BREVIARIUM ROMANUM Roman Catholic Breviary in Latin Leather BoundBreviarium Romanum A breviary is a book of the Latin liturgical rites of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia website, it is divided into four parts based on the seasons of the year. So you have the Psalter (Psalms), the Proper of the Season (think lent, Easter, Advent, Christmas, etc.), the Proper of the Saints (feast days of the saints), and the Common (Gospels, readings, etc.), along with Certain Special Offices (Virgin Mary, the Dead, etc.). This is, of course, overly simplified. In reality, it is a complex and lengthy compendium. This is very old. The front cover has came loose. The spine has some breaks in it. Gold Edged Pages. See photos for more information. This is small. Measures 6 3/4 inches x 4 1/4 inches
