Presented is an advertising promotional premium from the Briell-Rodgers Cotton Goods Company. This 1 5/8" diameter retractable tape measure is silver plated with the company logo superimposed and surrounding a bale of cotton. Very little to be found on the Internet about this company. What I did find showed the company to have been located in St. Louis, MO. It was a manufacturer of uniforms. It was sold in 1963 and I do not know if the name was retained by the purchaser. The earliest reference I could find related to a lawsuit the company was involved in, in 1923. There is a maker's mark WHITEHEAD & HOAG in small letters just below the logo. Very Good condition. There is minimal silver loss from wear. The clip on the end of the tape has broken off and the tape has been bent to prevent total retraction into the case. There is a small crack at the opening of the case. The tape is whole and the numbers are all clearly visible. Check out my other items ! Be sure to add me to your favorites list ! JUST THE FACTS, MA'AM NOTES All silver will be hand polished before shipping. Will buff Sterling flatware, on request, for no additional charge (may delay shipping). Any damage or discoloration will be noted in the description. As I tend to over describe faults, it should look better than you expect when you get it. SHIPPING DISCOUNTS Always read more
