As a side note, these tokens are called by a number of other names besides Conder tokens (U.S.). In the U.K. the official name is Provincial token coinage of the 18th Century. Other popular names include condor tokens, penny (1 d.) or half penny (1/2 d.) tokens. Although largely from England, there are numerous tokens in this series from Wales (primarily Anglesey), Ireland (primarily Dublin) and to a lesser extent, Scotland, thus sometimes collectively referred to more simply as eighteenth century British tokens.
