For sale is a very good reproduction of a British Pattern 1848 Brunswick Bayonet. It has an overall length of 26 Inches. The blade is 21&5/8 inches long. Please review the photos carefully. The bayonet is attached by sliding the mortise slot over a bar on the rifle, and latched in place by a button latching mechanism on the hilt of the bayonet near the cross guard. It is very similar to the Brunswick Pattern 1837. The hilt is of cast brass; latch is of internal spring-steel type with integral steel push-button.These were designed to fit the Brunswick Rifle and variants manufactured from about 1837 into the 1880s.These bayonets were used by North and South during the American Civil War. This would be excellent for any reenactment. Let me know if you have any questions. For sale is a very good reproduction of a British Pattern 1848 Brunswick Bayonet.
