Catalogue of Britishand Foreign War Medals, Crosses, Badges, Decorations, and Miscellaneous Medalsin the Collection of Lieutenant Colonel H. E. F. Eaton . Published by W. S. Johnson, ‘ Nassau Steam Press.’ Charing Cross, London , 1880. Many of the medals are named, but Eaton does not go into depth on background with too many, only where it helps illustrate the medal itself. (So stated in the preface.) Medals included are: War Medals, 1793 – 1814, Waterloo Medals, East India Company (1784 – 1857), India, Mutiny, South Africa, 1 st China, 2 nd China, New Zealand, Abyssinia, and Ashantee, Crimean, log service, good conduct, meritorious service, distinguished conduct, Victoria Cross, Marksmanship, Regimental Medals, Navy War Medals (1793-1840), Naval Medals since 1840, medals bestowed on British Officer by foreign powers, and a list of officers and soldiers that received more than on medal (in regimental order). Covers are worn and bumped, title page is detached and front flyleaf is coming loose. Library markings on title page, 210 pgs (text only, no pictures/diagrams).
