I purchased this pin about 40 years ago at an antique show in New Jersey. The lower badge part is made of thin celluloid and printed with "May 1911, 10th Biennial Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen Convention, Harrisburg, PA" The tiny union printing at bottom reads "Allied Printing Trades Council, Union Made, Newark New Jersey" The entire pin measures about 3 1/2 inches long. The ribbon is still colorful, red, white and green but is showing its age somewhat. The ribbon is attached with tape to the top actual pin. The oval pin shows the Pennsylvania Statehouse in Harrisburg I believe. The Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen was founded in 1883 in Oneonta, N.Y. as a protective and insurance organization. By the time of its merger with three other railroad labor unions to form the United Transportation Union in 1969, it had the greatest membership of any of the operating railroad brotherhoods. Upon your winning bid and payment with Paypal within three (3) days of the end of the auction, I will ship this antique collectible pin to you promptly. No returns, and thanks for reading.
