Another brown transferware pearlware teapot made by Davenport in Staffordshire around 1835. This one has the same form as the Davenport "Durham" teapot in this catalog but the pattern is quite different. The young girl may be a shepherdess but as she is wearing fancy clothes it is hard to say. I'd love to know the name of this pattern. There are rabbits in the border. Are they part of the theme? The teapot is in excellent condition with only a glazed over nick on the spout and a tiny nick on the inner rim of the pot where the lid rests. There are no repairs or cracks and appearance is superb.
