I understand that this dates the knife to 1972-1986 .This heavy Bowie Style knife similar in shape to the #119 but with a 7.5 inch blade. This knife is used by many as a survival knife. Good for all around camp use, Chopping, Game and as a fighting knife.. Made in the USA. Buck uses 420HC steel because it approaches the wear resistance of high carbon alloys while delivering the corrosion resistance of chromium stainless steels. Add Buck's exclusive heat-treat process and you have a very user-friendly combination of superior corrosion resistance with excellent strength for wear resistance and durability. You also have a blade that is easy to resharpen. For best performance Buck hardens the blade o a Rockwell hardness of Rc 58.This knife has been sharpened and honed with a razor sharp mirror polished edge that is much sharper than the factory finish.Note: BUCK measured they'er blades from tip to the guard. The cutting edge will be just under 7 inches.
