Burke Tyree -Hawaiian / Polynesian Beauty w/Coconut -Oil on board circa 1950sOffered here is an early original painting by well known California/Hawaiian artist Burke Tyree, circa 1950s. Painting is oil on masonite board, painted "en grisaille" (monochromatic / black & white), and measures 19 x 15 inches. Painting is in original wood frame with an overall size of ~24 x 20 inches. Painting is unsigned but is (without any doubt) the work of Burke Tyree. The name "Burt Tyree" is inscribed on back of painting and back of frame. I don't think Tyree ever went by the name Burt, so most likely a previous owner mis-wrote the name. Additionally, I have bought and sold many, many works by Burke Tyree over the past 20 years and have no doubts about the authenticity of this painting.Painting and frame are in excellent condition. SHIPPING to Hawaii will require air service so UPS ground service is unavailable for Hawaii buyers.
