Butz-Choquin- " Flamme " Collection You are bidding on a classic BUTZ-CHOQUIN, chubby billiard, " Flamme " collection freehand pipe made in Saint-Claude, France. This pipe shows a brown type stain which really highlights and accentuates the very nice Flamme grain that covers the entire bowl. Top of bowl is smooth, clean, shows some very nice birseye and is in excellent condition. The shank itself also displays that same flamme grain texture ( please see pictures ). Classic "Billiard" shaped bowl with a straight chubby shank. Part of the limited " Flamme " collection, made from choice Plateau briar. The result being a line of pipes made in limited quantities that show only a beautiful mix of flamme and straight grain textures. The next category up would be the very limited series of truly straight grain pipes called " Flamme Extra" ( please see my other listings ). This larger sized piece really stands out by its very nice flamme grain texture, overall size and classic shape. An original play on an old classic and a beautiful piece that's sure to please the most decerning pipe collector ! This pipe has been lightly smoked, very well maintained and in excellent condition !
