Description Here is a nice rare circa 1770 in date belt axe in good original condition. The iron axe head has a dark smooth surface patina from genuine age with a club and 'C' makers mark which can be seen in the photos. The original nicely shaped wooden handles surface has a nice dark color and smooth patina from age with a ball shaped end and engraved line decorations along the handle. The head is secured onto the handle with two iron straps on the neck area. Similar rare belt axes that date to the same period as this one can be seen in revolutionary war and war of 1812 museums in the U.S.A. and Canada. In total measuring 15 inches long.
