**LOVELY ** c1850 VICTORIAN 10K ROSE GOLD TOP ORNATE BROOCH I am so pleased to offer this lovely Victorian 10 karat Rose Gold Top Carved Brooch., . it has beautiful intricate Repousse scroll carvings on the border and the center has a TULIP and FOLIAGE .. a very pretty piece from times gone by. Please note the start price is not indicative of its value.. I start all my brooches and lockets at this lower figure. HISTORY It is Circa 1850 by design and styling...but may be earlier and may be Georgian.. This brooch is a wonderful find as is a TRUE ROSE GOLD in color..that PINK ROSE GOLD so highly sought after ..and brooches have made an amazing comeback..! While not marked for gold content the front surface tests positive for a minimum of 10 karat, and is 10 karat Gold Front and the Back and the C clasp and pin are Rolled Gold..quite common in Victorian times with these brooches... and would have belonged to a genteel Victorian woman and worn on a high neckline shirt collar This has the prettiest little tulip delicately HAND carved on the front with foliage . .. I find these absolutely fascinating .. and wonder what a history this must have ! DESCRIPTION & SIZING It weighs approx 7 grams .which further adds to its appeal !! It measures1" in size ... and the edges are intricately carved with scrolls and fine detail. The old C clasp locks well indeed ! The only fault i can see is t isare a few light scratches on the front due to it being solid gold top and is much softer than rolled gold.. but this does it detract from its beauty in anyway .......and apart from that it is in wonderful antique condition considering its vast age ! It truly has that BEAUTIFUL olde worlde charm. Please note that the pictures do not show the beautiful lovely rose gold and it looks very dull and drab...it was so difficult to photograph due to the reflection of the very shiny gold !
