For auction is a rare circa 1900 painted bisque porcelain pig in a rowboat, made in Germany by Eichhorn & Bandorf. This cute little smiling pig is dressed in a Victorian era swimsuit. Possibly a fairing or similar item. Underside bears the impressed mark of Eichhorn & Bandorf (reproduced in last photo), used from 1895 to 1905. This company made only a few decorative items and later went on to specialize in industrial ceramics. Item measures about 6 inches (15.2 cm) long, and is about 3 inches (7.6 cm) tall. Item is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks or repairs. Note that there is a hole in the front of the boat, to which a string was probably attached. Shipping for a flat $4 in the US. International shipping via USPS 1st class
