Very nicely made harp type table/desk lamp from the brilliant American lighting manufacturer Edward F. Caldwell, New York circa 1890-1910. Lamp is solid cast bronze with a real gilt finish and signed on the base with the stamped "C" in diamond mark. The harp is solid and therefore the period "GECO" turn-key socket has the wire way factory grommet hole in the socket cap in order to electrify the lamp.(Wiring is missing and needs to be added). Fitted to the socket mounted shade ring is a period "John Morgan" reverse painted panel shade. Shade is in good condition with no cracks, chips or repairs. Bronze finial at the top of lamp is the adjustor to tighten the knuckle in order to change the angle of the shade. Measures 17 1/2" high x 8" wide x 5 1/2" diameter at base.Very good quality antique desk lamp from one of the best lighting companies.
