I am downsizing from a 15 room home so please view my numerous QUALITY items. If you like this frame I also have listed a matching double picture frame which I bought at the same time from an antiques dealer. You are bidding on an VICTORIAN period picture frame circa 1900 handmade by an artisan. The frame is exuberantly carved in the Rococo style. Hand carved out of wood, then applied with gesso, and then water gilded to a high lustrous shine. Most of these wonderful frames came from Florence, Italy. The gilding is original. Has a wood easel on the back.SIZE: 10.25 " high, 7.5" wide, frame is 2.25" deep (not including the easel). Holds a 4.75" tall, 3.75" wide oval picture.CONDITION: At first glance the frame looks perfect because the frame is so ornate it is hard to see any imperfections. After close examination I saw that the top middle leaf is glued in two places. Bottom center piece has be re glued. I have owned this piece for approximately 18 years and have been very happy with it.
