This is a C1900 Irish Chain Pieced Patchwork Quilt in Red and White cotton measuring a large 90" x 87" (each square is about 1 3/4"). Red and White quilts were very popular during the C1900 period. This quilt has been in moth ball storage. This gorgeous quilt is all hand pieced and hand quilted (tiny stitches) with the squares having cross hatch quilting and the larger white area having leaf wreath dense quilting. It has a soft thin feel but still crisp and has been previously cleaned/washed. T is a soft lightening to some of the red squares. It has several tiny pin dot tan spots from age. The original binding is in excellent condition. No rips, tears, holes, stains or repairs. This is a beautiful quilt.
