Here's a really rare Air-Way Type "F" four tube radio made in 1923 in Toledo Ohio; a small package due to it's space saving engineering and double sided wood chassis, yet still plays better than many six tube sets. This one has all original electronics, most parts are pressed with the Air-Way name including the working audio interstage transformers. All four windings are good. The controls have the original knobs and all turn smoothly, adjusting to the smallest increment. A radio that compares to the equally rare Paragon III or the Federal 110, all being similar in size and of the same era. The hinged lid swings open to show a detailed voltage and instruction card, and access to the tubes for testing or replacement. This one works and comes with three 01A's and and a correct 200 detector tube that plays with loud volume in either the Amp-1 or the Amp-2 jack. Performance may vary depending on the length of the aerial, I used a 100 foot outdoor antenna, but it worked so well a vintage indoor loop may work, and a ground wasn't necessary. The cabinet has been refinished and looks good, not overly glossy, and has some tiny holes in the back. The top has a little warp that probably could be eliminated with some weights, I didn't think it was bad enough to correct. The front panel is glossy and without any chips or cracks. A nice sturdy read more
