This c1930s/40s French Vedette Art Deco Westminster Chime Wall Clock has an attractive case, a three train movement and long chime rods giving the clock a beautiful sounding chime. The clock makes an excellent overall appearance but, as should be expected on an antique clock, it has some nicks and scratches and has had some applied trim reglued. The original pendulum viewing door glass has lost most of its mirrored outline detail (see photo). The silver tone dial is signed Vedette, L. Blanquart, Toulon. Note the convex door dial glass. The well made high quality movement serial number 367102 is running and chiming properly but has not been serviced. The clock retains its pendulum leader lock on the seat board, clamp for the chime rods, holder for the original key and built in leveling screws. This clock has a beautiful sounding Westminster Chime. The sequence of the Westminster Chime is at quarter past the hour 4 notes are played, on the half hour 8 notes, at quarter to the hour 12 notes and on the hour 16 notes are played followed by the hour count. Note the eight long chime rods. Four are used for the Westminster Chime and the other four are struck simultaneously for the hour count. This nice size French Westminster Chime Wall Clock is approximately 27 3/4" high x 12 3/4" wide x 6 3/4" deep. If you have been looking for an attractive read more
