One of the most unique vintage Fiesta items are the syrup dispensers. Unlike all the other pieces in the Fiesta line, the molds for the Fiesta syrup dispensers were actually licensed from the "Dripcut" Company of Los Angeles. Dripcut also licensed the molds to other potteries and to glass manufacturers as well. This syrup dispenser therefore is the exact size and shape of a Fiesta syrup but it was made of glass by "Gemco" of New York City. The lid by Dripcut fits perfectly and works perfectly and smoothly. It should also fit genuine Fiesta syrup bodies.Dripcut made their own clear glass syrups but this Gemco version is painted within a bright blue. The paint is in terrific condition.Although this syrup is not technically a "go-along" it is of great interest to Fiesta collectors who may, or may not, have genuine Fiesta syrup dispensers. First, the red lid should fit genuine Fiesta syrup bodies, many of which were sold without lids. Second, the bright blue of this Gemco syrup would enable the collector to use it with their Fiesta table settings without incurring the enormous cost of securing a genuine Fiesta syrup. On the metal slide of the lid is inscribed "Dripcut". On the bottom of the body is embossed "Gemco...3....N.Y.C".
