For bid is an original 1800’s United States Navy uniform attachment! It’s a leather pouch that attached to a sailor or officer’s belt and was used to hold a something, perhaps bullets or other small items. The back has two leather loops meant to attach it to a belt and it snaps in front with an old brass button. T’s an oval with USN embossed into it. It’s guessing it’s from the Civil War era. The pouch is in good condition after over 120 years, but one piece of the leather is missing from the side (please see photos). It’s a great piece of old Navy uniform equipment. It measures about 5 ¼ inches long and about 2 inches tall. Please let me know if you have any questions whatsoever.
