The Auction: Presented for auction is a figurine by Royal Copenhagen featuring a Faun seated on a pedestal playing a Pan Flute (or Pipes) for a lizard. It it is identified as mold # 0433 on the underside. The figurine stands 8-1/4" high, and the square base measures 3-1/4" square. Although all stated dimensions are approximate, they are very close to accurate. According to Kovels Dictionary of New Marks, the official blue stamp used by Royal Copenhagen on this item began ca. 1922 and consisted of Crown Mark with "Denmark" below said crown. Further below, are the blue line waves followed by the mold ID. To the right of the waves are the letters "YB". Also included on the underside is a paper label that states "BOESEN, RAADHUSPLADSEN55, COPENHAGEN all with a detachable tear and possible price 228/--. An attached photo features this paper label. This auction does not include the original box which is missing. The Condition: This figurine appears to be a factory first quality as it has no scratches through the backstamp. The figurine is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs.
