Helbock, and A Checklist of California Post Offices 1850-1989, 2nd Edition by Richard W. Helbock. Letters of Gold by Jesse L. Coburn also provides considerable information regarding the early workings of the California postal system. Within the headings of most my early California listings, I typically show the Williams number followed by the item's Williams rarity factor.
