You are bidding on an early, (circa 1920's) The Shortway Ferry Boat road sign from the Rodeo, Crockett, Vallejo California area. It is a road sign showing an arrow from the road to the ferry. This auto ferry was used to transport cars from one side of the bay to the other. This was before the Carquinez bridge was built. This sign is approxiamently 90 years old. It is 16" x 16". Check out the pictures for details of the condition. It has rusted areas, chips and scratches. This sign was posted on the road near the salt water, so it was exposed to the elements for many years. The sign has all of its original gromets. In all of my years of sign collecting, this is the only one I have had. If anyone can add any information about this sign it would be apprciated.
