HELLO CUSTOMERS! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE BIDDING/BUYING, AND FEEL FREE TO ASK AS MANY QUESTIONS AS YOU NEED TO KNOW: I am selling a custom-painted replica of the Caltrain Gallery trainset. This is NOT designed by KATO , but is based on a locomotive and pullman-type gallery passenger cars that were made by KATO (in other words KATO manufactured the locomotive and rolling stock but I changed the paint scheme - I give KATO credit to making the 'base' of this product). The locomotive originally was an Amtrak F40PH and two of the cars were former Chicago Metra cars, one was Chicago RTA, one was Amtrak, and one was Rock Island Railroad. The whole trainset was hand-painted and decals specially designed , and this is my only trainset of this type. There are some minor imperfections, such as the cab car stripes being drawn on by a red Sharpie marker and some very slight paint stains on the cars, but I wholeheartedly took my time to make my work as detailed and sophisticated as possible. The ceiling of the locomotive shell has a metal weight that had to be taped on because the plastic screw socket holding it up has cracked, but masking tape worked to hold it in place and for it to be removed as necessary. Some of the car vestibules and wheel covers have different colors (e.g. some are black, some are silver). The font of the rolling stock car numbers do not match those of the Caltrain in real life, but I managed to find a font close enough. Otherwise, there are no electrical problems, mechanical errors, or major cosmetic damage to any part of the product and the whole trainset is fully functional. I have to sell the whole trainset because I am out of work and not employed, but this will make an excellent Christmas gift for the model railroad and/or Caltrain railfan enthusiast out there. Locomotive has a nose headlight, rear headlight, and a pair of number boards that light up. Cab cars have working headlights and marker lights. The engine is DCC ready, despite its being an older KATO F40PH that was most likely made back in 2010 or 2011. The sale will NOT be divided; all five cars and locomotive will be a packaged bundle. The trainset consists of: F40PH locomotive #902 "San Mateo" luggage car #3810 bike/cab car #4008 luggage car #3802 handicap access ADA car #3858 bike/handicap access ADA/cab car #4024 All parts of the product will be packed with care in their original boxes and be safely arranged for prompt and immediate shipping, especially that I want the recipient to receive it before Christmas. This item is special and custom-made and is not eligible for return or exchange unless there is something damaged (at my fault) and/or grossly misrepresented. Caltrain runs daily services between San Francisco and San Jose Diridon Caltrain/Amtrak/ACE Station, with limited service to and from South San Jose, Morgan Hill, San Martin, and Gilroy during peak weekday commute hours and convenient connection to SFO Airport via BART at Millbrae Station and SJC Airport via VTA Bus 10 at Santa Clara Depot.
