This must be the "Mother" of all cameo brooches. This is a large and very attractive old piece of fine jewelry. It came from an old New England estate decades ago. My wife did have it cleaned and the clasp repaired several years ago. As far as I know the clasp is still the original old style it was just repaired. She no longer wears this piece and has decided to sell it. I am no authority on these things and will describe the brooch as best I can and be happy to answer any email questions. The piece stands 2 3/8" tall and 1 7/8" wide. The frame is in very good shape with no dings, dents or damage that I can find. The top of the clasp is marked 10K. I can find no other markings on the frame. Again, I am no authority but the cameo itself appears to be nicely executed with excellent detail. The "pendant" on the portrait does contain as best I can determine a nice sized diamond. It does register on my diamond tester as a diamond but I cannot absolutely guarantee that it is real. I can find no chips, cracks or signs of other damage. Overall a really great possibly Victorian Era fine cameo. TERMS: Buyer pays $5.00 Priority Mail shipping to US.
