Canada - Trans Canada Airlines crash cover - A cover recovered from the burned out wreckage of a TCA airliner in April 1954. Included in the lot is the original form letter that accompanied the burnt cover when it was returned by the Canadian Post Office to the addressee. The burned cover is postmarked April 7 1954 at Winnipeg, and had been loaded on the airliner for transport with other mail, headed west on the Winnipeg to Calgary leg of a Montreal to Vancouver flight. The crash occurred over Moose Jaw .Note: This cover was recovered from the wreckage of a TCA Canadair C-4 North Star Airliner which suffered a collision with an RCAF Harvard Mark II trainer while flying over Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
