Lot 2 of part 2 of a specialized collection of pre 1920 badges to the 34th Fort Garry Horse. PLEASE NOTE! You are bidding on the item in the first scan (front and back) only! Other scans are included to show the difference in the varieties I am currently offering for sale on eBay. The badges being offered here are the examples listed in Part 2 of my multi volume ‘Brooker’s badges of the Canadian Army 1920 to Unification’ available from Service Publications. In England during WWI the authorized Upper Fort Garry Gate badge began to be mounted on a maple leaf. This pattern was later (1922) adopted by the regiment in Canada. Please note the shape of the motto ribbon this pattern being used on all badges of UK manufacture including post WWI issues. Lot 2 has large lettering with white metal overlay mounted to brass flat back maple leaf secured with short white metal wires. PLEASE NOTE the fold over tangs on this example broken off. (Brooker 151-11-238) Please For new bidders not familiar with my descriptions, all items that I sell are in original condition appropriate for their age with original fasteners in place. Any replaced lugs or fasteners, wear or other damage is noted. All scans are of the actual item being offered for sale. PLEASE let me send you an invoice after the sale closes so I can combine lots to minimize your postal charges. read more
