Contriques: DELFTinitely Unique (TM) DESCRIPTION: This auction is for a a pair of brown transfer ware lunch plates in the CANOVA #02 variation. Each measures 8 3/8" in diameter. This pattern was made by several potters in many variations. Thomas Mayer created this pattern between 1826 and 1838 in the Longport region of Staffordshire, England. It is a classical romantic pattern while the scalloped brim design includes florals, botanicals and picture medallions. This predates ironstone and is a softer, creamier earthenware clay body. There are no chips or cracks on either. One has some light staining on the back of the rim. The pair weighs 1 lb. 6 oz. so will be a 2 to 3 lb. package. Don't hesitate to ask questions. All forms of U.S. payment accepted. Good luck...Have Fun...GO NUTS!!!! FREIGHT, FEES & FEEDBACK: I have listed appropriate and practical shipping formats for this auction based on the type of item and weight. All listed freight formats will appear on the PayPal invoice so you can choose. The listed shipping is based on the ACTUAL weight of the item plus appropriate weight for the bubble wrap, peanuts and box. I pre-weigh all items for ACTUAL shipping weight, NEVER flat rate "guestimates". Why should someone on the east coast pay shipping rates of a west coast buyer, and why should anyone pay exaggerated, made-up costs? read more
