Very attractive complete boxed set CANTEEN OF SIX SILVER PLATED FISH KNIVES & FORKS made by: William Batt & Sons, Sheffield date (estimated): mid 1930s Seller’s comments: To help you better understand what you’re bidding for, I’ve put together the following information. I hope you will find it of help. Please note that I’m a private seller, not a dealer. This very attractive looking set of 6 fish knives and forks in its original canteen has been in my family for over 30 years. They originally belonged to my uncle who was a collector of collectables. They have not been used for the last 30 years and have remained inside their canteen. Each of the six knives is clearly marked on its blade (see photos) with: - (inside shield) (inside rectangle) (inside rectangle) (inside rectangle) The silver marks website: - silvercollection.it/electroplatesilverB.html#616IGNO indicates that the knives and forks were made by William Batt of Sheffield. I believe this company operated until the mid 1930s. (See below for information about this maker). All the knives and forks are in good condition with no bends or other visible damage. All show scratches commensurate with previous use. The knives and forks come in their original canteen which, as can be seen from the photos, is in very good condition.
