I am a volunteer listing books for the Cannon Beach Library, which I do from my home. I have a non-smoking home however, I do have two dogs. The Cannon Beach Library was organized by eight women in 1927. The library consisted of books on three shelves in a small local store. Books were sent to the library each week by the state librarian. These books were then packed up and returned at the end of the week and the process repeated. With donations and community support, a cottage on Second Street served as the library for 26 years. In 1976 the library was dedicated in its present location, 131 N. Hemlock, and in 1977 the children's room was added. The library is supported by fundraising events, used book sales, and donations. read more
