Welcome to, ASTRON METEORITES Up for bid here are 20 Canyon Diablo meteorites,known as Meteor Crater,its is the most well known meteor crater in the world,located in Cocnino County Arizona it is a mile wide and 700 feet deep,and because of the dry desert area it has been very well preserved.Thousands every year still visit the small museum on the rim of the crater. There are 20 in this group,average weight a little over 3 grams each.They come in their own gem jar.These are great for jewlery,resale or give a kid there very own shooting star.If you plan on giveing these to a school class or orther group more than 20,and need extras,I do have more,just contact me after the auction and let me know what you would want. Canyon Diablo meteorites are of the iron type,specificly Iron Coarse Octahedrites {IAB},and are very stable,I clean my meteorites with a technique learned from a fellow IMCA member who works in a museum,this is how they preserve there meteorites.
