An amateur press association (APA) is a group of people who produce individual pages or magazines that are sent to a Central Mailer for collation and distribution to all members of the group. CAPA-alpha (sometimes abbreviated to K-a) was the first amateur press association (APA) devoted to comic books, started by Jerry Bails in the United States in 1964. Number of copies is usually limited to number of members of the particular APA and a few extra. In the case of CAPA-alpha I believe membership is held to 50 so this is a very limited publication in regards to circulation and is rarely seen for sale. These publications are thick with long time fans musing on various topics some of which are: Top comics of 2009, reviews of select comics and books about comics, a retrospective look at Fantastic Four issues #52 – 53, articles particular facets of comic collecting plus much more.
