CAPTAIN MARVEL #27 Marvel 1973 Grade: Very good+ ( I would rate this higher but there is a slight spine roll and a little wav ieness (hard to see in p icture) on a couple inches on bac k cover, otherwise I would have given this a fine+ as cover is very nice and colors bright) See my other auctions for many more silver age comics, many books will listed in the same comic li ne and many in consecutive order - I will combine shipping (see below) Description/Grading: I was a casual collector of comic book forabout 10 years. I am not a professional grader or run a busi ness . F or the descriptions of the books I am selling, I copied and pasted a grading scale from the comic book WIKI website and used this as a general guide as to the condition I thought my books were in. BUT please understand I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL GRADER. I will take the pictures on new white printing paper so you can judge the discoloration of the books. I will give my opinion of an OVERALL grade and try to note an y significant defects that could change the overall gra de I stat ed of the book based on a specific de fect.... BUT ...PLEASE USE THE PICTURES TO JUDGE FOR YOURSELF, THE PICTURES ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION Grading Scale I used to grade books Mint Perfect, pristine, devoid of any trace of wear or printing or handling flaws. Covers must be fully lustrous with sharply pointed corners. No color fading or inking flaws. Cover and pages must be centered and even cut. Many “rack” comics are not mint even when new. Near Mint Almost Perfect with virtually no wear. No significant printing flaws. Covers must be essentially lustrous with sharp corners. Spine is tight as new. In older comics, minimal color fading is acceptable, as is slight aging of the paper. Very Fine Well preserved, still pleasing in appearance. There are small signs of wear, most particularly around the staples of the spine. Most luster is readily visible. Corners may no longer be sharp but are not rounded. Typical of a comic read only a few times and then properly stored (these are what most comics are that you find in boxes at your local comic shop) . Fine Clean, presentable, with noticeable signs of wear. Some white may show through around the staples and moderate rounding of the corners. No tape or writing damage. Book still lies flat. Very Good A well worn reading copy with some minor damage, such as creasing, small tears, or cover flaking. Some discoloration may be evident, with obvious wear around the staples. Little luster remains and some rolling of the spine may be seen when the comic is laid flat on a table. Good A fully intact comic with very heavy wear. Tears, cover creases, flaking and rolled spine will be evident. No tape repairs are present. Fair A comic that has definitely seen better days. Comic may be soiled and damaged on the cover and interior. Entire comic is completely intact. Poor Generally unsuitable for collecting or even reading because they range from damaged to unrecognizable. Interior or exterior pages may have cut-outs or writing. The cover may be missing.
