Vintage 1930's Car Clock - Swiss Movement This vintage car clock is complete, original and in good working order. It is believed to date from the 1930's or early post WWII period. The nickel plated case is in very good condition. All the visible case screws are present and original. It has a Swiss Made movement. The winder is a bezel (rim) wind. The black 2 inch dial and hands are all in good condition. The beveled glass is perfect with no cracks, chips or scratches. It runs for over a week on a full wind and keeps good time, with a slight tendency to gain a little. I removed the bezel and glass to photograph the dial; I have never removed the movement from the case. It has never been cleaned or regulated during my ownership of several years. The dial is marked " 8 Days", "Swiss Made", "SmithS Cricklewood London". The clock is wound by turning the bezel anti clock wise. Hand setting is via a small lever in the 9 O' Clock position, move the lever and turn the bezel anti-clock-wise to move the hands forwards. There is a small red arrow painted on the inside of the glass which moves with the bezel; I think it's a basic time or trip marker. This clock can be fitted to any flat surface, no hole is required beyond 3 small screw holes. Buyer to pay for postage please which will be £6 within the UK. I will ship world wide.
