This is an old carbide miner's light, manufactured by Universal Lamp Company Springfield, Illinois. The top is embossed "BIG BOY". The body appears to be brass. T is a hook on top. Base to top of upright handle is 9". While obviously used, condition is beautifully clean and intact as shown. Research tells me that this American made piece is a rare find.
