I have recently begun to teach myself to build backsaws this open handled backsaw is one of my projects. The buyer will enjoy solid service from this quality tool for many years to come. This carcass backsaw is handled with a striking piece of curly maple. It is configured 15 ppi rip with some fleam added to the teeth in the first two inches to aid in starting the kerf. The plate is .020" 1095 high carbon spring steel. The teeth are machine punched and hand sharpened, a light set has been applied for use in hardwoods. The saw cuts straight and smooth. The plate length is 10 1/2" and depth is 2". The saw nuts are machined from solid brass. The spine slit brass. The handle is finished with Truoil and wax. My handles are roughed out with machines but finished by hand for a comfortable fit. However if your hands are much bigger than average then this handle will be to small for you and you should contact me for a custom version. I try to build and sell one saw a week. If you are not satisfied return the saw for a full refund. I pack carefully and ship quick, most of the time the day after receiving payment, occasionally by the second day, rarely longer than that.
