CARERRA EVOLUTION(NOT SCALEXTRIC) McLAREN MERCEDES MP4-17 (DAVID COULTHARD 2002 SEASON) NEAR MINT You are bidding on a near mint Carrera Evolution McLaren Mercedes vehicle that has been used but is as close to mint condition that you will find for a used vehicle. Carrera are very well made cars and increasing in popularity all the time. Made in Germany to very high standards Carrera do appeal to collectors. This is a super example and will augment any collection but is unboxed. The car is modelled on the vehicle as driven by David Coulthard in the 2002 F1 season where the Scot came a highly respectable 5 th in the final standings with victory in Monaco and podium finishes Brazil, Spain, Canada, France and the USA. So let’s be clear on the condition of this vehicle…warts and all. It has been tested on my track layout and drives fast. Fitted with lightly worn braids, the car also has automatic return system guides which return to a central position making it easier to relocate the car on the track after it has gone off. The car has a switch on the underside to allow for the electric current to be reversed, so that the car can drive in either direction. The 1/32 car is superbly styled and has dynamic detailing making it a stunning car. The fine detailing and crispness of detail and decoration of the factory applied decals is, as you expect from Carerra Evolution, the best in there is. The body work is blemish/mark free. The front axle struts are present and correct for this vehicle, as are the front and rear wings…all in perfect condition. The treaded tyres are in perfectly grippy condition and the Michelin branding is in excellent condition. The car comes complete with rear spoiler and both wing mirrors (which is something of a rarity for a used car) Carrera Evolution cars also offer a number of different possibilities for adjusting the magnets in order the change the road holding, drift, acceleration and braking behaviours. The adjustable/removable neodymium magnets give the car incremental downforce and grip allowing it to stay on the track at higher speeds and gives improved high speed stability and cornering ability. The race is far more exciting as the cars speed around corners and accelerate away down the straights. The car slows for corners more sharply too, giving the race real energy. But be careful, when the magnet loses attraction to the steel guide rails the car becomes a real handful! The Neodymium Iron Boron magnets have a gauss level which is typically 2-4 times higher than standard Alnico magnets. The magnets are nickel-plated for improved corrosion resistance and appearance. Compatible with all 1/32 analogue track systems like Scalextric, SCX, Ninco, Fly etc. This is a super example and will augment any collection.
