CARL ZEISS JENA JENOPTEM DDR 10 X 50W BINOCULARS __________________________________________________ SUPERB pair of Carl Zeiss DDR produced binoculars, this is the Jena Jenoptem 10 X 50W Multicoated model from East Germany complete with original case in very good condition ( few storage marks on back ) also the accompanying straps and lanyard are in nice condition . The serial number is 6793950 indicating year of production as 1988. ( production of these models ceasing in 1991 ) The cosmetic condition is excellent no user marks attributed to careful handling since manufacturer . Some of the photographs are showing reflected light and this pair of Zeiss may well be classified as in close to mint condition throughout. The optical condition also has no signs of any deterioration of the special coatings applied during manufacture. The image produced is excellent, giving a pin sharp accurate view with no damage to the len’s / prism’s. Reverse viewing reveals a spotless interior and the collimation is perfect ensuring a stress free situation during extended use. The have the later T3M multicoatings which do give a superior contrast and colour rendition compared to the early models...
