Richard Clifton-Dey original art . . . CARLSBERG BEER Final offer on this original artwork created for a print ad for Carlsberg Beer, commissioned c. 1992 - likely for a UK or European advertising campaign. The British artist, Richard Clifton-dey, was may also be responsible for the more cartoon-like image that appears in the advertisement, in addition to the final art "comp" - or it could have been printed up to show the captioning text, how it would be appearing in print, with an overlay ("the best lager in the world")...in any event, the original art - without lettering - is far better painted than the "visual" that accompanied the artwork , as you can see...although the concept is the same. The painting is in gouache on illustration board, total dimensions 15" x 30" - a very large piece, and lots of fun for anyone who is a fan of beer ...this would make a terrific display when framed. The brand name "Carlsberg" in logotype is on the keg sitting behind the rowers...The color scheme and detailing is great, you will not be disappointed in this one! We have very few examples of Clifton-Dey's advertising art left, and we are pricing this to sell! We are the exclusive agents for the estate of Richard Clifton-Dey, who died in 1997.
