You are looking at a hand painted miniature house by J. Carlton from Dominique Gault from France. It is a bakery and has several floors. It has a green shop front with door and window with 'Boulangerie' written on it. In the window are different kinds of bread visible. There is also a yellow door and the windows have yellow shutters. Flowers have been painted underneath a few windows. The roof has different colored tiles. On the bottom is printed 'J. Carlton Hand Painted 210257'. I believe this is from the Provence series.Some history: The Gault logo is a registered trademark of Enesco. Mid 1980's two Gault brothers: Jean-Pierre, a painter, architect and sculptor, and Dominique, a businessman and designer started with many master craftsmen who joined them, a unique series of houses completely hand made and not one house is the same. They used Limoges clay, especially elaborated for this technique and all tools, stamps and instruments were created by the craftsmen. It took 2 months to produce a house going through 14 manufacturing stages (natural dying, firing at 700 degrees C, rinse bath with oxides, painting, patina, dust removal, cold enameling at 1000 degrees C etc), and more than 3000 stamps were used.The Original Gault (aka Gault Limoges Clay)houses were created from mid 1980's to 2010.Initially they created ceramic miniature read more
