"Carnaval" Original Lithograph Print, 1976 Artist: Mihail Chemiakin (1943-) Image Size: 17" H x 24" W Paper Size: 21" H x 30 1/2" W Edition: Number 87 of 225 Signed: Pencil Signed by Mihail Chemiakin Lower Right Hand Corner, Print Signed Top Right Condition: This lithograph is in great condition with fine color. This print has been kept in an art cabinet drawer since my aquisition of it in 1993. The right edge of the paper is slightly browned and there are three small yellow spots below the signature. Image is not taped or glued inside of frame. Mihail Chemiakin Bio: The artist most frequently referred to as "the Picasso of our time" Mihail Chemiakin is one ofthe foremost international artists of our time. A quote from the Robb Report(Jan. 1995) states "so great are his talents that he is one of the few artists working today who sets the standard by which all other contemporary art is measured". He has earned 5 honorary doctorates. The Hermitage Museum held an exhibition in Oct. 1995 of such magnitude that a 7 volume catalog was printed for this monumental occasion. Mihail Chemiakin was born in Moscow in 1943, grew up in occupied East Germany , and returned to Russia in 1957 where he was admitted to the Special High School of the Repin Academy of Art in Leningrad .
