This is a strange but collectable piece of folk art. These were used at carnivals and fairs in throw the ball knock down games. This one is weighted at the bottom by a piece of wood which is very worn. It is said that some of these were made by the carnival people themselves from old canvas tents. The photos show both sides and by looking at the designs on this one, I would say that the designs were made by some sort of block or screen printing process as the appear to be pretty much the same on both sides.
