INUIT HUNTER, SLED AND DOGSCarved Stone Arctic Scene Hi! I'm Karen. 's a vintage collectible you might like a look at. Inuit Carved Stone Figures! This arctic scene carved out of several different stones shows an Inuit hunter, his freshly-killed seal on a sled, and three dogs, all on a flat stone platform or base. His original spear was gone and we manufactured another out of wood and slate--but it's likely too big. T's no maker's mark anyw I don't know that this was made by an Inuit, but it may have been. The Inuit hunter is dark gray stone, one dog is black, one light gray and one is ivory color. The sled with two troughs and the seal may be the same kind of stone as the hunter. The platform is a creamy tan. I showed close-up shots of the carving skill in these pieces. Pegs holding the figures in place have traces of glue. When you own this scene, you may assemble the figures and glue them as you please. Making a more slender spear would be good, more in scale to the hunter's hand.
