Case Knife Collectors series (One of 200) knife entitled “Trail of Tears” Last Chance Listing - Reduced the starting bid to make things more interesting for all of the watchers I had on the last listing. Up for bid is an extremely rare and beautiful Case Collectors series (One of 200) trapper knife entitled “Trail of Tears”. This knife was made sometime in the 1980’s (per the tang stamp). I have tried my best to get some info on this knife’s origin through internet research and knife forums, but haven’t had much luck. WR Case customer service responded to my inquiry about the knife and stated that "It appears to be a 1989 Case Copperhead knife. Case made the knife, but did not do the artwork or packaging. This was done as an aftermarket knife. During that time period Frost Cutlery was doing a lot of knives like that." The handle material is appaloosa bone with some blue tinting, it’s absolutely beautiful. Both blades are etched, one with the classic Cherokee Indian image entitled "The End of the Trail". This image also has some beautifully scrolling on either side. The second blade is etched with the words “TRAIL OF TEARS” next to an etched figure of an American Indian.
